Pinewood Country Club COVID-19 Response

Pinewood Country Club To our Pinewood Family,

We hope that you are all safe and making the best of these difficult times we are all facing. Jayne and I want you to know that in the event that we are allowed to open to the public, we will provide the safest environment possible.

We still don’t know how this will affect golf courses throughout the state but I wanted to touch base and let you know that we have already started to plan for changes on the course to help with the “social distancing” aspect of this contagious virus. We have been constantly reading what other courses are doing throughout the country from superintendent’s blogs to our golf course owners association. There are many great ideas out there to help prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus on the golf course and protect our customers.

The golf course would become somewhat of a sanctuary so people can get outside and have a few hours away from all of this while we provide a safe environment to get fresh air. Golf is by nature the definition of “social distancing”. No more than 4 people to a group and it’s played outside. People will play with their friends so I see this as a positive not only to provide physical activity but help with your mental well being.

These changes to procedures include but are not limited to the following:

No more than 10 people in the pro shop at a time.

Close the practice putting green and the driving range until further notice.

The bar upstairs and downstairs will be closed to customers. Drinks will be provided for patrons on a to go basis.

Our tee times are already 10 minutes apart and will remain so to provide a distance between groups.

No ball washers, portable toilets, pop machines, garbage cans, scorecards in the mailboxes on #2 and #11 tees or water coolers on the course. Once you exit the golf course, a garbage can will be there for you to deposit your garbage in.

We will raise the cups 1 inch so that when putting and the ball hits the cup it is considered in with no reason to touch the flag stick or cup itself.

If you want your own single cart we will accommodate that and be cleaning each cart steering wheel, cart keys and controls after each use. Cart keys will remain in the carts all day and be constantly disinfected.

We are working on a plan for food i.e. Hotdogs, brats, boxed lunches etc. No coffee will be available since people touch the pot all the time.

The restrooms in the clubhouse will be constantly monitored and cleaned.

In the pro shop, we will be wearing gloves to handle cash and credit cards. Credit cards are preferred as then there is less contact between people.

Please note that these new procedures will be in place until the time when it is deemed safe to go back to how our operations were in the past. These policies may change daily so we will update you as we become updated.

For our regular Birdie and Eagle members, the membership deadline of April 15th has been pushed back to Friday, May 15th, without any increase in the fees.

If you have any questions about this, don’t hesitate to email us at pinewood@newnorth.net or call at 715-282-5500.

We wish everyone a safe few months, as the world works through this crisis. Jayne and I look forward to seeing everyone again in the near future and stay healthy! Remember that we have not opened up until the first week of May the last 2 years and we are all in this TOGETHER!

Tees and Greens,

Chip and Jayne Bromann
