Under new ownership, the Pinewood Country Club heading in new direction

By Brian Weis

Pinewood Country Club's general manager, Stefanie Edwards, is ready to shake off the rust.

"Been so excited, we were a little delayed this year with the opening with the snow so. Everyone came out and our course turned out great. The greens are perfect condition coming out of the winter so it's going to be a good golf season," said Edwards.

The Country Club in Harshaw has new owners this season,

Causing a few major changes

The vintage restaurant and bar is open for the first time in years.

"Just went under new ownership this year so we are making some big changes, but still having that friendly family atmosphere that we've always had," said Edwards.

There is plenty of nature, perhaps more than some golfers bargain for...

"Yeah, we have a lot of animals here. On the back nine we have some wolves and coyotes who like to take equipment: mainly the tee markers. Hopefully this year won't be as bad. We are coating them in a little different coating," said Edwards.

With over 60 years of operation, Pinewood has become a familiar destination for golfers..

Stefanie is excited to give back to the course where she has golfed since childhood.

"I love Pinewood, it's family and the members are great. It's nice to have the public come in. Always meeting new people, so we are excited to bring that restaurant too and get more people sitting in pinewood and the golf course who maybe don't golf," said Edwards.
